Plasmid DNA purification
Plasmid purification is commonly used for molecular cloning, transformation, and expression of recombinant proteins. Plasmid purification kits are available based on bacterial culture size and corresponding plasmid yield (miniprep, midiprep, maxiprep, megaprep, and gigaprep).
Our plasmid kits provide reliable isolation of high-quality plasmid DNA. These kits are:
- Engineered with advanced silica elution and binding technology
- Compatible with vacuum and spin format
- Formulated without phenol/chloroform
These products allow researchers to maximize the reproducibility of their workflow and minimize the time they spend obtaining plasmid DNA for transfection, sequencing, PCR, and other downstream applications.
1. GENELUTE ™ Plasmid Mini Pre-Prep Kits
GenElute ™ Plasmid Mini-Preparation Kits offer simple, fast, and cost-effective methods for isolating plasmid DNA from E. coli cultures. These kits combine silica-based membrane technology and the convenience of a spin column format.
Characteristics:
- 40% more preps per kit than the leading provider
- Purify up to 20 µg of plasmid DNA per ml of culture
- Plasmid DNA purified in less than 30 minutes for up to 24 preparations
- No phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation required
2. GENELUTE ™ HP Plasmid Preparation Kits
GenElute ™ HP Plasmid Purification Kits produce high-quality plasmid DNA in less than 30 minutes for Mini, Midi, and Maxiprep kits, or 1.5 hours for Mega and Gigaprep kits.
- From harvested bacterial culture to pure plasmid DNA in less time
- Yield up to 25 µg (Mini), 350 µg (Midi), 1.2 mg (Maxi), 5 mg (Mega) and 15 mg (Giga) of high copy number plasmid DNA
- Offers the flexibility of a vacuum or spin format (Mega and Gigaprep in vacuum format only)
- No phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation required
- Kits are stable at room temperature for convenient storage
3. GENOPURE ™ Plasmid Preparation Kits
Roche Genopure ™ midi and maxi prep kits use anion exchange chromatography for plasmid purification. To isolate DNA, a modified alkaline lysis protocol optimized for cell cultures grown in LB medium is used. The lysate can be filtered rather than centrifuged prior to anion exchange, resulting in shorter plasmid preparation times and complete removal of SDS from the purified product.
- Reduce DNA shear by clarifying the lysate using pre-folded filters rather than centrifuging prior to anion exchange.
- Save time with ready-to-use reagents (10 minutes hands-on time / 75 minutes total).
- Purifies all sizes and types of plasmids, including BAC DNA.
- Process multiple samples in parallel using high-speed gravity-flow columns.
- Eliminate the use of hazardous organic compounds such as caesium chloride, phenol, chloroform, and ethidium bromide.
4. GENELUTE ™ Endotoxin-Free Plasmid Preparation Kits
Endotoxins reduce cell viability and transfection efficiencies between different eukaryotic cell lines and can influence the outcome and reproducibility of a given transfection experiment when using mammalian and other eukaryotic cells. GenElute ™ Endotoxin-Free Plasmid Prep Kits offer a simple, fast, and cost-effective method to purify plasmid DNA with <0.1
- EU / mg DNA for high-efficiency transfection.
- Higher transfection efficiency and performance than market leaders
- Purify endotoxin-free plasmid DNA (≤0.1 EU / mg DNA)
5. GENELUTE ™ Five Minute Plasmid Miniprep Kits
The GenElute ™ Five-Minute Mini-Prep Kits feature an optimized protocol that produces up to 5 mg of high-quality plasmid DNA in approximately five minutes.
- Only 5 minutes from start to finish
- No settling cells or clearing lysates
- The tie column works with any standard laboratory vacuum manifold
- Choose either vacuum or spin protocols
